How is science changing reproduction and the experience of parenting? Award-winning Seattle journalist Bonnie Rochman is a former health and parenting columnist for Time Magazine. She discusses her new book THE GENE MACHINE: HOW GENETIC TECHNOLOGIES ARE CHANGING THE WAY WE HAVE KIDS—AND THE KIDS WE HAVE. with Julie Metzger, a nurse and health educator, known for her popular sex-ed class Great Conversations at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Rochman has written for The New York Times Magazine, The Boston Globe, Scientific American, and O, The Oprah Magazine. A mother of three, Rochman’s personal journey seeking Jewish genetic screening launched her interest in the subject and THE GENE MACHINE her first book, which received a starred review from Publishers Weekly and praise from The Wall Street Journal and The New York Review of Books.
